CollarWashers are particularly useful when working on overhead jobs as they prevent paint from dripping down the handles and onto your hands.
Originally designed for use with the BruKon brush container to improve the seal around the brush handle, paint
professionals and DIYers soon discovered that CollarWashers were useful in their own right to keep hands and handles free from the mess of dripping paint.
In response to repeated requests to supply CollarWashers unbundled from the BruKon brush container we now offer them separately in 8 packs.
Each CollarWasher is 35mm in diameter and designed to fit easily on virtually any paint brush handle and remain there.
No paint brush should be without one.
There are 3 parts to the unique design of a CollarWasher. The inner
flange is made from a thinner elastomer to allow it to slide onto a wide variety of paint brush handles and provide a seal for thinner handled brushes.
Around this is a thicker tear stop ring to prevent the outer disc from becoming stressed or damaged when the CollarWashers are being fitted.
The tear stop ring is also designed to make a seal
around the handle to keep paint at bay and keep the outer disc in shape. The main part of the CollarWasher is the rigid outer
guard disc which, at twice the thickness of the inner flange, keeps its wide disk shape to prevent paint from dripping down the handle.
Made from a specially formulated Synthetic Elastomer, CollarWashers are safe to use with oil and acrylic paints as well as regular Turps, Spirits,
Water and Citrus Based Cleaners.
CollarWashers are easily installed on most paintbrush handle sizes. To fit simply lubricate the handle (with soap, oil or even turps) and with the flat
side of the CollarWashers facing towards the bristles gently but firmly slide down into position. An alternative to lubricating the handle before
fitting is to place the CollarWasher in hot soapy water to make it more pliable.
CollarWashers can be used separately or in conjunction with BruKon’s innovative ‘Paint Brush Cleaning & Storage System’ for perfect paintbrush
maintenance.
