How does it work?
-
Ensure there is enough turps or water in the container so that it just reaches the bristle tips. About a cup is all you need.
-
Place the brush in and close the lid.
-
Shake backwards and forwards and leave to settle.
-
Your brush is now ready for next job - today, tomorrow or anytime.
What are the benefits?
- Shake and your brush is ready!
- Use less turps, spirits or water
- Minimises harmful waste
- Recycle the clear PVC container when its time for a new one
- Effective cleaning makes your brushes last longer
- increases brush life
- use less turps, spirits or water
- At the end of the session just place your brush into the container
- The next time you want to use it just shake and its ready
- One cup is all you need to keep your brushes clean
- Pour off and reuse the liquid once the paint sludge has settled
- Let the sludge dry, shake the flakes loose and tip into the bin
- By elevating your brushes off its bristles and out of the paint sludge
- By preventing edge bristles from fraying due to repeated washing and drying
- By keeping the bristles from bending during storage
- By preventing paint from drying on the bristles
Features
The the BruKon brush container has been refined over a number of years and the current patented design has many features
that may not be apparent at first glance:
Sustainability is a key design consideration in the creation of the BruKon brush container.
In addition to minimising the use of cleaning fluids during the painting process and the
life and quality of your brushes, the container itself is made from recyclable yet tough
and UV stabilized PVC material. PVC is highly sought after in production because its very
low petroleum base. The recycling identification code is clearly marked on the bottom
of each container.
- The container is designed to be clear as well as resistant to harsh
chemicals such as mineral turps and spirits. Being clear means that you can easily
see the level of fluid to ensure that it just covers the bristles, as well as allowing you to
easily identify paint colours when there are a number of containers and colours being used.
-
A unique and innovative feature of the container design are the side ridges on the faces of
the container. These give the
container structural rigidity and more significantly allow 2 or more containers to snap
together to form a block of brush containers. A block of brush containers allows you to keep
your brushes together and easily move them all from one job to the next.
-
Connectable containers like the BruKon brush container would normally have to be made
using an expensive injection molding process, however our innovative design means that
we are able to manufacture them using blow molding techniques. As far as we know we
are the only manufacturers of blow molded connectable containers of any type. This
innovative manufacturing technique is what allows us to deliver containers to you at
modest prices.
-
Each container is made with perforated side wings to allow blocks of brush containers to
be fitted with a chord based carry handle. This makes transporting blocks of containers
to, from and between jobs, a very easy activity.
-
The polymer lid is designed to be impervious to harsh chemicals like mineral turps. At the same
time its soft enough to allow it to be readily fixed and removed without cracking
or manifesting other flexing fatigue damage.
The brush handle insert is designed to fit nearly every type of paint brush,
whether its a hefty 100mm external brush or a 25mm trim brush or smaller. The lid fits tightly
over the container's edges to prevent fluid evaporation and by fitting a CollarWasher on
the brush handle evaporation from the central aperture is also minimised.
Specifications
The BruKon brush container is designed to comfortably hold regular 75mm brushes, however in practice brushes up to 100mm can be accommodated.
The outside dimensions of the container are as indicated on the diagram to the right. Note that the overall height of the container with
the cap fitted is less than 25mm + 170mm due to overlap. Similarly when two containers are connected side by
side the width is less than twice 58mm because of overlap in the connecting ridges.
The weight of the container and cap is 150 grams.
The base section of the container is made from a recyclable PVC based polymer which is impervious to common paint
cleaners such as mineral turps, white spirits and citreous based cleaners. Acrylic thinners, acetone, xylene
based cleaners or other liquids that will damage PVCs MUST NOT be placed in the clear part of the
container.
